The project involved flood protection, flood storage and flood prevention measures at locations along a 6 km stretch of the River Poddle from Tymon North, Tallaght to St. Teresa’s Gardens, Donore Avenue.

Scope of works included:

• Construction of Integrated Constructed Wetland, comprising ICW Cell
• Forming embankment sides and creating mid-slope access path
• Cutting back existing connections and creating new inlet with headwall, stone surround, riprap and fencing
• Planting of ICW cell, landscaping, shrub planting and seeding
• Construction of access points to monitoring locations, viewing platforms, boardwalk and meeting area
• Provision of amenity features including viewing platforms, boardwalk, stepping stones and meeting area; and
• Provision of biodiversity opportunities including creating spawning pools and habitats.
